The calendar is packed full of fine jewellery, fragrance, premium beauty tools and high-end skincare all handpicked by Vogue editors. The ultimate collectable for fashion fans, it was created by Joanna Barton, Class of 2002, working alongside Olivia Perry, Class of 2013.
Joanna is the Consumer Revenue Lead at Conde Nast, the publishers of Vogue, while Olivia is its Senior Counsel and led all the legal negotiations with the brands participating in the calendar.
“I’m very proud to create something that will give £75,000 to charity and hopefully bring some joy and good value to those who buy it,” says Joanna, who joined Condé Nast a year ago, to lead its newly formed UK Consumer Revenue team.
“Just over 10 years ago, I was part of Team GB’s Olympic rowing team but have transitioned into a career in commercial marketing which plays to my strengths by also being very goal-oriented!”
The inaugural festive calendar, which is decorated with vintage illustrated Vogue covers from its very first edition in 1916, contains 31 surprises worth over £1,500 and costs £350. The proceeds will go to three charities: akt, the national LGBTQ+ youth homelessness charity, Sistah Space, which supports African and Caribbean heritage women affected by domestic and sexual abuse, and Women for Refugee Women, which helps women seeking refuge from persecution, war, rape, gender-based violence, and torture to rebuild their lives in the UK.
The official launch date is 22 September, but you can put your name on a waiting list. For more information about the calendar click here: Vogue’s First Ever Festive Calendar: Release Date, Price & Products Inside | British Vogue
