Nicky Budd Memorial Lacrosse Match

As a tribute to the much-loved former Head of Sport, Nicky Budd, we are inviting her former pupils to join us for a very special lacrosse match at the Alumnae Reunion on Saturday 7 October.

Mrs Budd, who was a former England U19 and GB Lacrosse Head Coach, taught at LEH from 2004-2019. She passed away last month after suffering a serious stroke back in April 2021. She had been cared for in hospital since then.

Former colleagues and past pupils have paid tribute. You can read her obituary here:

Current Director of Sport, Dani Mugridge, says: “During Nicky's 12 years overseeing the PE Department, she was devoted to the school and pupils and her organisation of the sports programme was excellent.

“Her main role as Head of Lacrosse provided opportunities for lacrosse players to compete at the highest level – winning the 2018 National Schools’ Lacrosse tournament. Nicky was a top coach, heavily involved with England lacrosse as the U19s coach, and through this she was able to develop many LEH students who went on to play representative lacrosse.”

The Nicky Budd Memorial LEH Lacrosse Alumnae Match against current pupils will be held after lunch at the Alumnae Reunion on Saturday 7 October 2023, at 2pm on Geard’s Acre.

If Mrs Budd taught you and you’d like to be involved, please email alumnae@lehs.org.uk.
