Alumnae News |
We were very excited to welcome all pupils back to school, after having to shut our doors in late March. It might not look quite the same, with desks carefully rearranged to maintain distance, one-way systems in the corridors and new sanitising stations in shared areas, but it’s wonderful to have the classrooms full again and the whole place buzzing with learning.
Sadly, it is still difficult for us to have visitors in school, but we do hope that as things ease up we will be able to resume our usual programme of alumnae events. Meanwhile, if you haven't done so yet we urge all of you to sign up for our Virtual Alumnae Reunion, which replaces the Annual Lunch, on Saturday 3 October. Please click here to register your interest now so we can send you the access link nearer the time.
On the day, there will be a chance to hear first-hand from the Head Mistress Mrs Hanbury how the school coped during lockdown and how the Covid crisis has brought the whole LEH community closer together than ever. There will be stunning performances from some of LEH’s most gifted music students and thought-provoking EPQ presentations from a couple of our finest public speaking pupils. And we're hoping our sixth formers will take you on a tour of the school, all from the comfort of your home.
You can also win some wonderful LEH goodies by submitting your favourite photos from your days at school – be that of you in your uniform, or on a school trip, taking part in a school production or showcasing your sporting prowess. Please email them to: alumnae@lehs.org.uk. All of them will be shown in our special Throwback Photo Gallery, and there will be prizes for the best ones. For those of you who are brave enough, we'd really love some 'then' and 'now' pictures!
We are still adding content and fine-tuning the programme for the day, so please email us with your suggestions and ideas. We hope to hold some live video chats, hopefully including one with some much-loved former teachers, so let us know if that would be of interest.
If you are celebrating a ‘big’ reunion anniversary this year – especially all years ending in 5 and 10 eg 1975 or 1990 - do get in touch as we’d be delighted to help you contact fellow classmates to encourage a really good turnout. If we get sufficient numbers, we’re aiming to hold live video chat rooms for reunion groups, so do urge all your former classmates to sign up.
We are hoping to hold a real alumnae reunion at the school in the summer, meanwhile we're really looking forward to "seeing" you on October 3rd.
